MoMA Pre Matric Scholarship- Eligibility, Guidelines, Last Date

Pre-Matric Scholarship provides financial aid to meritorious students for studying in a government school or a private school including residential Government institutes and eligible private institutes. Candidates who belong to any minority community and are studying from class I to class X e can take advantage of this scheme.

 

Eligibility for Pre-Matric Scholarship

  • Applicants must belong to a minority class, including Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
  • Applicant must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the final examination of the previous class.
  • The annual income of the applicant’s parents/guardian should be less than Rs. 1.00 lakh (total income from all sources).
  • Applicant must be studying in Classes I to X.
  • The student must be studying/ going to study in a government school/ private school / eligible institutes selected and notified in a transparent manner by the concerned State Government and Union Territory Administration.
  • You can apply for this scholarship only in the state/ UT in which you are residing and in accordance with its quota.

 

Pre Matric Scholarship reservations

  • 30% quota of the Pre Matric Scholarships is reserved for girl children of each minority class in each State/ UT. However, in case this reserved quota is not utilized by the specified gender, then it will be provided to the students of another gender of the same community and state.
  • If the targeted number of scholarships to any community in a state/ UT is not fully availed, then such unused scholarships will be transferred to the same minority community in other states/ UTs on a merit basis, but without putting any effect on the overall national quota.

 

How much money do you get under Pre Matric Scholarship

The rate of Scholarship offered is as followed:

  • Admission Fee for Class VI to X: Rs. 500/- per annum subject to actual (both Hosteller & Day Scholar)
  • Tuition Fee for Class VI to X: Rs. 350/- per month subject to actual (both Hosteller & Day Scholar)
  • Maintenance Allowance (for 10 months in an academic year): Rs. 600/- per month for Hosteller (Class VI to X), Rs. 100/-per month for Day Scholar (Class VI to X), Rs. 100/- per month for Day Scholar (Class I to V)

 

Document required for Pre Matric Scholarship

  • Income Certificate of parents/ guardian, issued from a Competent Authority in the State/UT Governments.
  • Photograph of the student.
  • Verification form (to be provided by the institute).
  • Self-certified Community Certificate from the students who are 18 years old or more. Community Certificate certified by parent/guardian of the student is required for others.
  • Aadhaar number of the student. if you don’t have an aadhar number, you can provide Aadhaar Enrolment ID (EID) or any other identity proof like a bank passbook with a photograph, ration card, Permanent Account Number (PAN) card, passport, etc.

 

How to apply online for Pre Matric Scholarship

  • You can submit online applications for Pre Matric Scholarship at the official website https://scholarships.gov.in/
  • Go to the website link and click on the ‘New Registration’ button available at the top of the page.
  • Click on the ‘Login’ button if you are already registered with the portal or if you are looking to renew the Scholarship.

 

Last date to apply– 15 November 2021.

 

How to get a scholarship amount in a bank account

The amount of the scholarship is credited to the bank account by the competent authority. Students who provide their aadhar number and have linked (seeded) their aadhar number with their bank account will get payment in such a seeded bank account only.

  • A bank account in a scheduled bank with a core banking facility and IFSC is preferred.
  • The bank account must be in the name of the student solely or jointly with any parent or legal guardian.
  • KYC must be completed for successful credit of the scholarship amount.
  • You can check that whether the amount of scholarship is credited in your account or not at www.pfms.nic.in website. Click on the “Know Your Payment” option on the home page.
